I’m road tripping in Japan on Google Street View again, and I’m going up the Northwestern coast this time.

I’ve actually seen a lot of interesting stuff along the way, but I’ve finally gotten around to capturing a few shots of stuff I find, starting where I am now, in Central Niigata.

And it seems that imported models, especially German ones, are quite popular there, as this stretch of National Route 402 proves...

First is this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I found with aftermarket wheels (not the most tasteful set for this kind of car).

Then, a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! double play, with an S210 E-Class wagon and a W163 ML, right across the street.

Just up from these, I spotted an F25 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ...

On the other side of the next intersection, I came across this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Soon after, the Street View car ended up behind this late model Saab 9-3.

This just might be one of the first !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on Street View outside of Germany, and it’s a Turbo!

In the midst of Dieselgate, here’s a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of VW products, an Audi A3 and a Volkswagen Golf Variant, both possibly (but unable to be determined as such from here) diesels.

And, I’m gonna finish things up with this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I spotted parked among a bunch of kei cars and subcompacts.

And this is just the beginning, as with my trip around the island of Shikoku, I’ll post occasionally with some of the really interested cars and car-related stuff I come across.

That Bimmer looks suspiciously like a last gen Lotus Elan in the rear...

I always thought the rear was a bit of that and Suzuki X-90 combined, so yeah.

Yeah, the Astro didn’t surprise me. It did, and still does, have a rather decent sized following there.
